Submitting a Proposal to the Residency Program
In Association with the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival, the Adelaide Festival Centre is inviting proposals for participation in an Artist-in-Residency program in 2018 from South Australian artists or groups of artists for up to six months.
Proposals must include an outcome of new works inspired by the Adelaide Festival Centre, its architecture, environment or programs and is suitable for display at the Festival Centre during the SALA Festival in August 2018.
Proposals need to include the following
1. An up-to-date CV for each participant
2. A selection of images of previous work with detailed information.
3. An outline of your intended residency project (media, concept, possible activities, potential outcomes)
4. The intended timeframe and;
5. An indication of your needs for residency space and preferred display area
Successful participants will receive a space to work, access to Adelaide Festival Centre backstage areas, the Works of Art Collection and the Performing Arts Collection.
Residencies are considered according to proposal strength, relationship to the Festival Centre programming or infrastructure and availability of space.
Creative use of space for the display outcome will be an advantage.
The impending major redevelopment of the Adelaide Festival Centre and Plaza provides an opportunity for artists to respond to the site while the development takes place.
Once complete, the Adelaide Festival Centre will integrate seamlessly with Festival Plaza to become a lively, activated space, surrounded by hospitality and tourism.
Internally, the upgrades to lighting, sound and staging equipment will ensure that the technical capabilities of the Festival Theatre will be at national standards. New food and beverage spaces and improved facilities will enhance the entertainment experience.

Artist Fee – selected individual artists or artist teams will be paid a total fee of $2,000 (ex GST). $1,000 will be paid upon signing the MOI to assist artists with materials and expenses with the final payment of $1,000 being issued on completion of the project.
