Applications are now open for the second Adelaide Studios Artist Residency, a unique opportunity for South Australian visual artists to develop and produce art of the moving image on site at South Australia’s creative screen hub, Adelaide Studios.
An initiative of the South Australian Film Corporation and Adelaide Studios in partnership with SALA (South Australian Living Artists) Festival, the Samstag Museum of Art, UniSA with funding from Arts South Australiaand Unitcare Services, the residency aims to nurture the production of new multi-disciplinary work bringing together art and screen.

Inaugural recipient, filmmaker and multi-disciplinary artist Amos Gebhardt will be featured in an In Conversation event on Wednesday 14 August at Adelaide Studios screening theatre. Gebhardt will discuss moving image practice spanning narrative cinema and multi-screen installation.
Gebhardt’s Artist Residency work will be exhibited in its world premiere screening season at the Samstag Museum of Art, UniSA during the 2020 SALA Festival.
Minister for Innovation and Skills David Pisoni welcomed the partnership commitment from all involved in this unique offering.
“The extraordinary Adelaide Studios, including the sound stages and mixing theatre, are inspiring locations for artists to develop their vision,” Minister Pisoni said.
“The Marshall Government is committed to supporting innovative screen practice, and we congratulate Amos Gebhardt on being the first artist to work in this creative screen hub.”
Artist, Amos Gebhardt said “The Artist Residency is a rare opportunity for moving image makers working at the nexus of art and film to access world class facilities at the SAFC with confirmed exhibition at the innovative arts hub of Samstag Museum. The support from these organisations in conjunction with SALA have allowed me to explore conceptual leaps in my multi-disciplinary practice which I look forward to presenting in 2020.”
