Artist Statement Sue is a mixed media artist who loves being in nature and taking time to notice her surroundings, see the colour, the textures, the shadows; to look closely at details but also draw back and take in the big picture landscape, contours, lines and shapes.
Viewing nature through all the seasons, the highs and lows, the skies, the land, the colours, textures, and ever-changing light, her eyes are drawn to what she sees around her without consciously realising it. She responds to what she sees using a diverse range of materials and processes including botanical dyeing, gel printing, collage with textiles and paper, abstract painting with acrylics and inks.
She is learning to take time to let go of her intentions, free her mind, and simply get in the flow of creating to find joy in what appears.
