Emily Murgatroyd
As both an artist and educator, my practice is rooted in visual storytelling and community engagement. I hold a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of South Australia (2014) and a Master of Teaching (2016), and since then, I have dedicated my career to teaching Art and Design while maintaining an active studio practice in a variety of mediums. My work has been exhibited in Adelaide and internationally.
Currently, my focus is on oil portraiture on board, exploring the depth of human emotion, identity, and connection. Through layered brushwork and a considered approach to colour, I seek to distill the essence of my subjects, capturing the subtleties of character and lived experience.
Seeking a venue with good lighting. Photos reflect current series and one WIP. There may be some smaller supporting oil paintings.
