Adele Justice
Hi, I am Adele!
As an artist, my work is rooted in realism, with a devotion to the interplay of colour and light, predominantly using oil paint on canvas.
I believe that art holds the power to establish an authentic connection between the viewer and the world around them. This connection is at the heart of my creative process, as I strive to convey emotions and stories that transcend the canvas. Whether through the tender subtleties of a portrait, the rich textures of a still life, or the vast expanse of a landscape, I seek to evoke a sense of shared experience, an invitation to pause and reflect on the quiet wonders of life.
In 2022, I was honoured to be selected as a finalist for the Kennedy Art Prize with my portrait titled Mischief. This recognition affirmed my commitment to capturing the essence of the human experience. More recently, I received a Special Judges Mention at the 2024 West Torrens Art Prize, an acknowledgment of the growth and depth of my work.
Alongside my art practice, I have spent over two decades teaching and refining my skills as a public speaker, becoming an accomplished and confident communicator. This experience has enriched my creative journey and deepened my ability to connect with others through both art and words. In 2025, I am proud to serve as the co-coordinator for the PACE Festival, where I aim to foster an environment that celebrates creativity and artistic collaboration.
Through my work, I invite others to experience the beauty, complexity, and wonder of the world we inhabit, capturing fleeting moments that speak to the heart of what it means to be human.
I am based in Gawler, near the Barossa Valley. I am keen to exhibit with another artist/s somewhere south of me such as Adelaide, the Hills or Coast. 😊
