My work explores the resilience and individuality of my subjects while celebrating the transformative power of growth and change. Focusing on the vital role of outdoor movement and our connection to nature, I highlight the profound physical, mental, and spiritual benefits it offers.
Using acrylics and oils on canvas, this series draws inspiration from a November 2024 photoshoot in the Adelaide parklands with friends, as well as personal experiences, daily walks along Linear Park, and meaningful conversations with others about their life stories. One such work, "You Take Me Up, So High," captures a close friend who overcame a decade-long battle with mobility after a car accident. Through sheer determination, he not only learned to walk again but to leap and dance.
These pieces serve as a reminder of our deep connection to nature, essential for balancing mind, body, and spirit. I invite you to experience the vitality, renewal, and healing that come from reconnecting with the earth. The works celebrate our relationship with nature, emphasising the importance of movement—whether joyful dance or quiet stillness—and the strength found in our shared bond with the natural world.
