Exhibition
Back And Forth is an exhibition featuring abstract paintings of Australian scenery, capturing evocative memories through shape, form and colour. Due to my husband’s career in the army, we frequently move around Australia, often encountering both the vastness and diversity of our land. As I’ve journeyed through our country, not only have I been overwhelmed by its physical beauty, but also by an intangible essence; a sense of place that is both timeless and evocative. It’s the feeling of being rooted in a specific corner of the world, of forging connections with new environments, and becoming acquainted with once unfamiliar lands.
This exhibition is a distillation of my memories. Each painting explores colours from nostalgic photographs captured whilst living in different regions. The artworks are a deliberate abstraction, a visual summary of the hues that resonated with me most deeply. Each colour represents a moment, a memory, a feeling – where the vibrancy of life intertwines with a sense of belonging.
Join me in exploring the layers of Australian landscapes through geometric forms, connecting your own memories and emotions with the abstract representations in this exhibition. Together, we will traverse the landscape of transience and find solace in the beauty of impermanence.
