Mieke Boerema is a ceramic artist, working from her home studio in Aldinga Beach. Mieke is increasingly drawn to explore sculpture. Although the core of her ceramic work has been functional, sculpture is finding a way to break in. This might be in the form of a mug adorned with a whale tale or beach treasures trailing the inner curve of a bowl. And when time permits, Mieke will sink deep into creative mode and sculpt a nautilus shell or a human figure, raw and thought provoking.
