Exhibition
'The longest day, or the long goodbye' is a term associated with Alzheimer's/Dementia.
In this body of work I want to highlight the idea that whilst a diagnosis such as Alzheimer's/Dementia (a disease that many people face either alone or as families) can be a sad and confusing time, it can also serve to remind us to linger and appreciate the time we have left together. That there is still beauty to be found and there is value in what people still have to share.
Artwork will be in a variety of mediums - acrylic/watercolour/oils/graphite illustrating the gamut of emotions felt and experienced by individuals and families affected.
This is done through a series of focuses:
Faces - a reminder that there is still a beauty to be seen, loved and shared at any age or stage.
Eyes - how we see our loved ones who are affected and how they see their life and us.
Hands - hands show a lot of character, they remind us of the life lived and the comfort provided thru touch.
Group viewings outside of normal hours available by appointment only.
