Jane Smeets, represented by Ex Animo Gallery, is a South Australian based artist currently living in the Fleurieu Peninsula. Nature, connection and belonging thread throughout her work, evoking shared experiences and memories.

Jane will be launching a new body of large-scale oil paintings at the upcoming SALA exhibition, which are informed by her local region, celebrating the surrounding natural beauty. Her painting process of applying cold wax medium to the oil paints creates a remarkable body and depth of texture. Through fluid brush strokes, Jane applies gestural and lyrical brushstrokes, creating a poetic, flowing, and organic effect.
