‘Catchment’ speaks to the connection between Sauerbier house, on the banks of the Onkaparinga River, and my childhood property in the Adelaide hills, part of the water catchment for the Onkaparinga river. The project uses cloth and objects to trace landscapes, watershed, blood lines through woven textures. Through this work I hope to re-connect with the strong history of Lithuanian textile art, a cultural lineage that has been lost in my family.

This exhibition has been developed through a 6 week residency at Sauerbier house.

Adele Sliuzas is a finalist in the Inspiring SA Science in Art Award and the City Rural Emerging Artist Award.
