Creativity flourishes even in constricted environments. Despite incarceration, people remain Artists on the Inside.
Visual art provides a way for people in prisons across South Australia to express their creativity, unearth new talents and strengths, maintain their identities, and stay connected with their vision and hopes for the future. 'Artists On the Inside' is comprised of artwork created by people during their incarceration in a South Australian adult prison or on a community supervision order. The works offer glimpses into the artist’s lives, their experiences of incarceration, and provides the platform to share their stories.
Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and the Department for Correctional Services.
