Inspiring Faith, Hope, and Healing Hearts in Action: A Contemplative Collection
For the second year, I am honoured to present a deeply personal collection of paintings, prints, and sculptures at the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival. This exhibition reflects on the complexities of life, love, loss, faith, hope, and the healing journey of the heart. Through watercolour, acrylic, photography, and mixed media, the collection invites viewers to explore the transformative power of art in healing and self-discovery.
From Seed to Essence: A Journey of Growth, Discovery, and Healing Hearts in Action
“From Seed to Essence” symbolizes the re-set of my artistic journey—a seed planted during the isolation of the pandemic. It was during this challenging period, that I had time to reflect on the heartbreaking loss of two babies while undergoing IVF. The protea represents courage and transformation, which became the focus of my early works, not only the beauty of growth but the resilience born from pain. It reflects the raw, unrefined beginnings of my creativity and the transformative healing process that followed.
The seed symbolizes those early moments of exploration and self-reflection, a time when art became a lifeline through personal loss. Over time, this creative journey blossomed into something deeper, just as the protea flower reveals its intricate beauty. My passion for art and its healing potential became clearer, leading to the development of my mindful painting classes. These classes have become a way to share the powerful connection between mindful art and healing, as I learned to guide others in finding peace and expression through creativity.
In this exhibition, “From Seed to Essence” is not only a story of a flower’s transformation but a journey of personal healing, artistic discovery, and purpose. The seed represents the humble beginning of this path, while the essence embodies the understanding I’ve gained—not just through my own art but in the way, art has become a vehicle for connection, growth, and emotional healing.
