Bloom Brighter: A Kaleidoscope of Colour & Kindness. Year 5 students explored the connection between art-making and emotional wellbeing by creating vibrant wellbeing collages. They cut and layered coloured papers, drawing inspiration from Yayoi Kusama’s iconic polka dots, nets, and pulsating organic motifs. Arranged into beautiful vases of flowers, the patterns echo Kusama’s practice, where repetitive marks become a meditative act that channels anxiety into joyful colour. By adopting her visual language, students discovered how rhythmic patterning can soothe the mind, with their blooming compositions celebrating growth, optimism, and the restorative power of creativity.
