Artist Talk, Exhibition
In response to the aims of the St. Andrew's Wellbeing Centre, Joanna Poulson and Sally Parnis have installed their work in a way that might speak of home and comfort.

Joanna and Sally both identify as painters and have a lusty love of colour that they express both via the traditional medium of oil painting and through contemporary digital drawing, painting and printing tools.

Their motifs range from the voluptuous flowers in Joanna’s garden through to the sublime landscapes Sally encounters whilst hiking the Australian landscape, and along the way we meet their pet dogs and the people close to them.

Recently, Joanna has become interested in “maximalist” interiors and how her images might flourish in this space.

Sally has struggled with the tension between the urge to “make” and ethical concerns about the accumulation of “stuff” in the world.

By gently unravelling and re-weaving the diverse themes of their two practices, they have shaped a space that welcomes you and invites your curiosity and imagination.
