Definitely Not A Suspicious Shopfront is a gallery installation of a storefront that definitely isn't selling suspicious things. The gallery has been transformed into a storefront selling oddities created for the exhibition. These oddities resemble once-loved items that would have otherwise been forgotten and discarded and now have new life. Peruse the objects and artworks on the floor. Perhaps buy from what's ‘under-the-counter’!? Also, what is out the back?

Over three weeks the recycled shop counter will be deconstructed and repurposed, transformed into an evolving installation of art-objects. The audience will be able to view the progression through the gallery windows; Monday - Wednesday. With the ability to explore the new creations, and growing piles of sawdust during the opening hours; Thursday - Sunday. Over the three week period the suspicious shopfront will be changing and evolving, but always inviting the audience to consider the re-use, repair and transformation of old things. What will the final outcome be?

Stephen Soeffky is a finalist in the City of Adelaide Award and the City Rural Emerging Artist Award for work in this exhibition.
