There are places in my memory that I chase. Landscapes rising from the ground compelling and mysterious, the faded beauty of once majestic buildings and the light; always the light.
In my painting practice I’m chasing the end too. When to finish a painting is often the big question. Have I conveyed the mood, are my marks where I want them to be? Lately I’ve been drawn to dark and moody imagery however where there is dark, there will always be light, and for me, that is where the beauty lies.
Sarah Hudson is a finalist in the City of Unley Active Ageing Award for work in this exhibition.
