Mini Mementos preserving post-war migrant influence on suburban homes through intimate, small-scale artworks.

This exhibition explores the architectural imprint of post-war migrant communities within the City of West Torrens' Little Galleries, focusing on modest homes that have been adapted over time through practical, often self-directed renovations. From reworked facades and gardens replaced with concrete, these changes reflect personal taste, available resources, and the shared skills within family and community networks.

Rendered as 6x4 inch works in watercolour and mixed media, each piece captures an everyday dwelling that might otherwise go unnoticed, yet holds a distinct visual language shaped by lived experience. The small scale invites close looking, drawing attention to details that are easily passed by.

As these homes are gradually altered, restored and demolished, this series offers a quiet record of their presence, inviting viewers to reconsider the suburban landscape and the histories embedded within it.
