Body of Becoming (and Other Desires) marks a turning point in Pat’s creative practice, as an exploration of identity, confidence, and the act of stepping fully into making.

At its core, the exhibition considers the male body not as spectacle, but as something quieter, more intimate: sensual, suggestive, and emotionally present. These works resist overt declaration, instead inviting viewers into a space where subtlety and softness carry their own power.

“Becoming” speaks to transformation. Across the exhibition, there is a visible evolution in both technical skill and artistic voice, with each piece contributing to a broader narrative of growth, refinement, and self-trust.

The “other desires” extend beyond the works themselves. They reflect a drive to shift direction, to claim space, and to contribute something new within an often conservative visual landscape. While grounded in bold colour and playful energy, the work also engages with the underrepresentation of male queer sensuality and approaching it with nuance rather than spectacle.

This exhibition is both personal and outward-facing: a declaration of intent, a reintroduction, and an opening toward future possibilities.
