Exhibition
Two visual artists, one shared ecology (the Adelaide Hills), and a shared reaching for common ground to express our love for the natural world in our very different ways. Ingrid and Isabella are separated by a 50-year generational gap. We don't pretend this gap is insignificant, but we do strongly believe that our visions of Nature are sympathetic, and that we can learn many things from each other. We also suggest that people who view these works together will gain more understanding than they might glean from either of us individually. We hope that those who see what we have produced will agree.
IN AWE
'The minutiae of Nature, with its shifts and changes, are my continued inspiration.' Ingrid's paintings are marked by a love of vivid colour and pattern-making, with styles ranging from realism to the edge of abstraction. She is animated by the natural process of simplicity within complexity. The real and living world is so often fractal.
THE LONELY BIRD
The Lonely Bird is Isabella’s debut exhibition, highlighting the relationship between music and nature, demonstrating how they are reflections of one another. Music, visual arts and nature, especially birds, are integral focal points within Isabella’s artistic range. Here in the Adelaide Hills, our ecosystem is home to over 200 species of birdlife.
