For the first time, Christies Beach High School has partnered with Hopgood Theatre to present an art exhibition as part of the SALA Festival. This collaborative initiative showcases a compelling body of student work inspired by the theme Imagine That!, celebrating creativity and innovation within young artistic practice.
To shape their creative processes, students engaged with a broad range of media and techniques, drawing upon their surroundings, cultural perspectives, personal experiences, and the practices of contemporary artists. The exhibition presents a selection of imagined landscapes and sculptural forms that invite viewers to re imagine the world through fresh and captivating perspectives. Highlights include a series of collaboratively created large scale canvases inspired by the work of artist Maria Reyes Jones, alongside a diverse collection of artworks produced by students from the Inclusive Education Centre. Together, these works exemplify the transformative power of imagination, inclusivity, and collaborative endeavour.
