Embodied Instinct explores the tension between control and instinct through high-contrast monochrome works.
Each piece is developed through a process of layering, removal, and repetition, allowing form to emerge rather than be precisely constructed. The physical act of mark-making becomes central—balancing intention with surrender.
Drawing on both human and animal subjects, the work reflects a shared language of movement, structure, and raw expression. Strength and fragility, control and chaos, coexist within the same form.
This body of work considers the point at which structure begins to break down—where something becomes less refined, but more honest and alive.
