Exhibition
For SALA 2026, students from Mitcham Primary School's G9 class have created an exhibition in response to the book 'Mechanica' by Lance Balchin. The 28 artists responded to the themes of the book, creating speculative 3D collages representing the wildlife of Earth in the twenty-third century.
The artists have worked with teacher Harry Ebert and curator Adele Sliuzas to develop this exhibition. It is accompanied by a publication featuring scans of the artworks as well as biographical descriptions of their creatures written by the artists.
The exhibition will be presented at Mitcham Library in the Children's area, and is proudly supported by the City of Mitcham’s Grants Program.
