Perhaps the ancient Athenians did it best, when they used the humble ceramic amphora to record the stories of their time. From illustrating scenes of heroism and godly deeds to tableaux of everyday moments, Athenian artists produced pieces that still provide a glimpse into their lives centuries later. Drawing inspiration from these ancient artefacts, Jessica Murtagh has created luminous blown glass forms that tell the stories of our own everyday lives, loves and mundane moments in time.

Jessica Murtagh is a finalist in The Advertiser Contemporary Art Award which has its own finalist exhibition at Keith Murdoch House (Adelaide).
