Aphelion is a small, premium wine producer. We make world-class Grenache with minimal intervention in McLaren Vale.

Refer to our website for more information about Aphelion and its’ Founder/Owner Operators, Rob Mack & Louise Rhodes Mack. https://www.aphelionwine.com.au

We have a beautiful little cellar door with plenty of outdoor space (both covered and uncovered) and views to the hills, vineyards and bush.

We invite you to learn more about our cellar door on our website, and you are more than welcome to book in for a tasting to experience what we are all about. https://www.aphelionwine.com.au

We are looking to ideally partner with a sculptural artist and display works in our outdoor space from August 1-31st, seven days a week, with open to the public viewing hours of 11am - 4pm.

We have:
North facing lawn (slight slope eastwards);
East facing lawn (flat);
East facing covered verandah;
White gravelled areas;
Entry archway.

We are willing to welcome non-customers who are just coming to see the art. There is plenty of space for visitors to move around.

The artist will have access to the space to set up artwork in late July, any day of the week that suits, ideally between 10am and 12pm.

Removal of the artworks should be as soon as practicable after 31 August, any day of the week that suits, ideally between 10am and 12pm.

Artwork must be exhibition ready and accompanied with all necessary fixings and supports for installation.

The artist is responsible for installing the artworks. Works must be securely installed, including anchoring measures. Consider a concrete pad foundation, using threaded rods and glue, bolts, and potentially using ground anchors with chains for added stability, as the area has strong winds.

Artwork must not present an unacceptable risk to the safety or security of the cellar door, Aphelion staff or visitors.

Artworks must be clearly labelled (on the reverse side where possible) with the artist’s name and the title of the work. Copper labels are suggested to survive the weather.

Freight and insurance of artworks will be the responsibility of the artist. Artists are responsible for maintaining at their own cost all insurances necessary to cover artwork for damages, theft, or loss during transport and delivery to and from Aphelion Cellar Door and for the time the artwork is on exhibition or in the custody of the Aphelion Cellar Door.

It is the artist’s responsibility to arrange delivery to any purchasers of artwork. Likewise it is the artist’s responsibility to organise and pay for the return to the artist of unsold artworks.

In terms of artwork sales & inquiries, this will be determined in conjunction with the artist. Our preference would be to defer such inquiries to the artist, or via the Shop SALA QR code system. We would like to discuss commissions with the artist. If the artist is registered for GST the retail price must be GST inclusive.

We will promote the event via our email database, social media, MVGWTA listing, an ATDW listing, posters at local cafe’s & libraries, and postcards distributed at cellar door in the month preceding the event.

We would like to share the registration fee with the artist prior to 7 April, and apply for any rebates available from the City of Onkaparinga (if any).

We would ideally like to co-host an opening event on a weekend day between 2pm and 4pm, and a workshop or art & sip session during the festival.

We would also like to co-host an event during the festival which could be a workshop or art & sip session.

If you have access requirements you want to let us know about, please call to discuss.

We are pleased to offer our exhibiting artist an artist’s discount on Aphelion wine purchases.

Please contact Louise at Aphelion to request our EOI information pack.

We hope to work with you on a memorable exhibition!
